Laie Beach is situated on the northeastern coast. The white sandy beach gets consistent waves throughout the year. During the winter, the waves at the Laie Beach can be higher. The Pounders Beach is located in front of the beach park. It is called pounders beach because it often have pounding shore break. The sandbar exists in some areas of the Laie Beach. The sandbar will drops suddenly into a great depth. The left side of the beach is great for swimming. The left side of the Laie Beach is a great swimming spot because of the calm waves. The offshore coral reef protects the swimmers from the high surfing wave. The water is less turbulent at this site. The local people often call the beach as bathtub beach because it has a still water. You don’t need to perform water sports to enjoy the beach. Laie Beach is well known for sunbathing activities. At the back of the Laie Beach, there are plenty of ironwood trees. The ironwood trees provide many shades for the visitors.

There is a coral reef at the offshore of Laie Beach. Laie Beach offers some protection against high surfing wave. The Laie Beach is a great swimming spot. It is a surfing spot for newbie surfers and intermediate surfers. There is no lifeguard and facility at the beach so you must be careful. There are some trees providing shades at the beach. Nearby the Laie Beach, there is a limestone cliff. The limestone cliff, also called Pali Kiloia used to be a site where the local fishermen spot fishes. You can catch all kinds of fishes at Laie Beach including oio, moi and papio fishes.

Laie Beach has no restroom or shower facility. There is a grocery store where you can buy all kinds of groceries. The grocery store is situated at the street adjacent to Laie. The park is very near to the Brigham Young University. The Polynesian Cultural Center is situated close to the Laie Beach. There is a rock wall that provides some shades on the left of the beach. There are several picnic tables at the Laie Beach. There are no lifeguards watching the area so you must be careful. You can take a scenic drive along the windward coast if you happen to be at Laie Beach. It is a great place to keep away from the busy lifestyle of Honolulu
